The Chillicothe Hornets routed the host Lafayette Fighting Irish softball squad by a final score of 11-1 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Hornets (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against Marshall (Marshall, MO). The Owls go into the Class 3 District 13 battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, Marshall notched a victory over Smith-Cotton (Sedalia, MO), 9-5, in a non-league battle.

The Fighting Irish now possess a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Maryville for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 7. Lafayette will meet a Spoofhounds squad coming off a 17-6 non-league loss to Cameron (Cameron, MO). The Spoofhounds record now stands at 2-2.
