The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Alva Goldbugs (Alva, OK) and the host Blackwell Maroons (Blackwell, OK), observed Alva's softball team get by Blackwell by a final score of 4-2.

The Goldbugs (13-6) will now prepare for their bout against Newkirk (Newkirk, OK). The Tigers go into the non-league bout with a 10-7 record. In their last bout, Newkirk tipped Kremlin-Hillsdale (Kremlin, OK), 6-5, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Maroons battle the Hominy Bucks (Hominy, OK) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 6. Blackwell will attempt to better on its 13-12 season record.
