In Thursday's league challenge, the host Gates County Red Barons volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Tarboro Vikings.

The Red Barons (5-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Washington County (Plymouth, NC). The Panthers come into the Four Rivers 1A challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Washington County was beaten by Perquimans (Hertford, NC), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Vikings meet the Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) in a Four Rivers 1A challenge, on Tuesday, September 10. Tarboro will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 8-1 record after their 3-0 league win over Washington County (Plymouth, NC).
