The Perry Panthers routed the visiting Hawkinsville Red Devils softball squad by a count of 14-5 in Wednesday's non-league battle.
The Panthers (7-4) will now prepare for their battle against West Laurens (Dexter, GA). The Raiders go into the 4A Region 2 battle with a 7-3 record. In their last battle, West Laurens topped Howard (Macon, GA), 8-0, in a league battle.
The Red Devils now sport a 4-7 record. They play next when they host Treutlen for a 1A D-II Region 4 battle on Thursday, September 8. Hawkinsville will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Toombs County (Lyons, GA). The Vikings record now stands at 1-6.
