Cozad Haymakers (Cozad, NE) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Southern Valley/Alma (Oxford, NE), 9-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Haymakers now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they host Lexington for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 9. Cozad will battle a Minutemen squad coming off a 12-4 league loss to McCook (McCook, NE). The Minutemen record now stands at 0-10.

With the loss, Southern Valley/Alma falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The travel to Gothenburg (Gothenburg, NE) to battle the Swedes in a C District 10 challenge on Saturday, September 9. The Swedes enter the challenge with a record of 8-6. Gothenburg lost 10-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Central City (Central City, NE)
