The Newport Greyhounds topped the visiting Hoxie Mustangs volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Thursday's league test.

The Greyhounds now have a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Crowley's Ridge Academy for a 3A Northeast test on Tuesday, September 12. Newport will confront a Falcons team coming off a 3-2 league win over Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR). The Falcons record now stands at 7-0.

The Mustangs (1-5) will now prepare for their test against Bald Knob (Bald Knob, AR). The Bulldogs enter the 3A Northeast test with a 0-6 record. In their last test, Bald Knob was knocked off by Clinton (Clinton, AR), 3-0, in a non-league test.
