The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) and the host West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), saw North Surry's volleyball squad beat West Wilkes by a tally of 3-1.

With the win, North Surry upgrades its record to 5-5 on the year. The Greyhounds host Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Granite Bears in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 13. The Granite Bears go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Mount Airy won 3-0 in their recent league bout against North Stokes (Danbury, NC)

The Blackhawks now own a 3-7 record. They play next when they travel to Wilkes Central for a Foothills 2A bout on Tuesday, September 13. West Wilkes will play a Eagles squad coming off a 3-0 league win over North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 4-6.
