In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Verndale Pirates volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines.
The Pirates (5-0) will now prepare for their battle against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (Long Prairie, MN). The Thunder come into the non-league battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle lost by Upsala (Upsala, MN), 3-1, in a league battle.
Next, the Wolverines encounter the Hancock Owls (Hancock, MN) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 12. Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley will attempt to advance on its 1-4 season record. The Owls come into the battle with a 1-5 record after their 2-0 non-league win over New York Mills (New York Mills, MN).
