The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Jefferson Dragons (Jefferson, GA) and the host Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes (Monroe, GA), observed Jefferson's softball team get by Monroe Area by a tally of 7-6.

The Dragons (13-1) will now prepare for their contest against Hart County (Hartwell, GA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 9-8 record. In their last contest, Hart County was edged by Stephens County (Toccoa, GA), 4-3, in a league contest.

The Purple Hurricanes now hold a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to Oconee County for a 3A Region 8 contest on Thursday, September 11. Monroe Area will battle a Warriors team coming off a 10-7 non-league loss to Apalachee (Winder, GA). The Warriors record now stands at 2-10.
