Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Savannah Bluejackets (Savannah, GA) and the host Groves Rebels (Garden City, GA), observed Savannah's volleyball team hold off Groves by a count of 2-1.
The Bluejackets (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Bryan County (Pembroke, GA). The Redskins go into the 1A Area 3 battle with a 9-9 record. In their last battle, Bryan County tipped Johnson (Savannah, GA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
The Rebels now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beach for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 9. Groves will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Jenkins (Savannah, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-11.
