Football Game Preview: Johnson Jaguars vs. East Central Hornets + How To Watch

The Johnson Jaguars will face off against the East Central Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Johnson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Johnson blew Clemens out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Clemens got their revenge. The Jaguars fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 23-21.

Despite their loss, Johnson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jett Hickson, who rushed for 43 yards and one score, was perhaps the best of all. The Jaguars also got help from Keane McGettrick, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Johnson's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Seamus Gosey was the leader with three. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Dre Giello was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 12 total tackles.

Meanwhile, East Central came up short against Canyon on Friday, falling 28-7.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for East Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Johnson couldn't quite get it done against East Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 34-21. Thankfully for the Jaguars, Isaiah Mackey (who threw for 317 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards) won't be suiting up this time.
