The Longmont Trojans will square off against the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Longmont has given up an average of 39.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Longmont is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 41 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Broomfield on Friday. They were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 50-7. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Joey Foot, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending one pass.
Meanwhile, Riverdale Ridge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Skyline 55-7. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won four games by 41 points or more so far this season.
Riverdale Ridge's win came from a few key players Longmont will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ricky Weeks, who threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Riverdale Ridge's leading receiver Jeter McArthur was Weeks' top target yet again, picking up 128 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Riverdale Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Longmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Longmont has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 205 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Riverdale Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 151.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Longmont was dealt a bruising 56-0 loss at the hands of Riverdale Ridge in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Trojans, Isaiah Medina (who threw for 271 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
