Basketball Recap: Cape Fear Christian Academy Skates Past Wake County Academy Homeschool with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crossroads Christian, Cape Fear Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-18 win over the Wake County Academy HomeSchool Wolves. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 36 points or more this season.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Chestnutt led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds. Those 19 boards gave Chestnutt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Godwin, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 17 points.

Cape Fear Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Wake County Academy HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Cape Fear Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Riverside Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Royals have now posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.
