Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Northside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Howard Huskies on Monday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Huskies on their field since April 17, 2017.

Caden Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Jeremiah Rozier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Northside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Northside's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Howard, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside will head out to take on Hawkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Howard, they will venture away from home to challenge Westside at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Patriots have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
