After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Cairo finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They lost 10-2 to the Tiftarea Academy Panthers. The Syrupmakers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cairo now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Tiftarea Academy, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Cairo will challenge Dougherty at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.27 runs per game on average), something the Syrupmakers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tiftarea Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Terrell Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
