Softball Recap: Jordan Red Jackets vs. Marion County Eagles
Jordan extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 4-9. They lost 15-0 to the Marion County Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 on Monday.
As for Marion County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4. Considering they have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Marion County's part, the team relied heavily on Lesley Dodson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Dodson has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Grier, who earned four RBI and two runs.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will face off against Sumter County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season. As for Marion County, they will head out on the road to face off against Callaway at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
