Softball Recap: Columbus Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jordan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbus). They never let the Jordan Red Jackets get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Red Jackets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Layla Hendrick was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Saydie Childers, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Jordan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Columbus is set to challenge their familiar foe Sumter County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jordan will square off against rival Shaw at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
