            Softball Recap: Lamar Thunder vs. Alamosa Mean Moose        
        
		
        
        
            Lamar won the last time they faced Alamosa and things went their way  on Saturday too. The Thunder blew past the Mean Moose 8-1.
 Carlin Weber made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   seven  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Khloe Fernandez, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Shayla Sigala, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.

 Lamar  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Lamar is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Alamosa,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lamar will  square off against  rival La Junta  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The  game will  give the Thunder their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, Alamosa is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Rocky Ford  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. This will also be the Mean Moose's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
