Basketball Game Preview: Montgomery Aztecs vs. Helix Highlanders + How To Watch

The Montgomery Aztecs will head out on the road to face off against the Helix Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Montgomery managed to keep up with Cathedral Catholic until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Aztecs lost 65-45 to the Dons.

Despite the loss, Montgomery got top-tier performance from Paula Zumstein, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 35.6% of the Aztecs' points, marking the fourth time in a row Zumstein has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Genevieve Whitehead, who put up ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Helix, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They were the clear victors by a 56-32 margin over Crawford on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Highlanders' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Helix's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Montgomery didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Helix in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aztecs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
