Baseball Recap: Parkview Wins Going Away Against Norcross

Parkview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Norcross on Thursday. The Parkview Panthers blew past the Norcross Blue Devils 10-4. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

Porter Berryman tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Malachi Washington was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Emani Ford was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Parkview pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Norcross, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Parkview will have a chance to go back-to-back against Norcross: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
