Baseball Recap: Morrow Takes a Loss

Morrow lost against Westlake back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Morrow Mustangs took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westlake Lions.

Malachi Mingo was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Mingo was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he's launched this season.

In other batting news, Zoran Galloway made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Morrow's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-4-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Glass, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Morrow's loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Westlake, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morrow will challenge Stockbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Lions coming up.
