Cozad posted their closest win since August 30th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Alliance Bulldogs 6-4. The Haymakers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Sara Howell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Hammerlun, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Cozad's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Alliance, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Cozad wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Scottsbluff on the 25th. As for Alliance, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-7 win against McCook on the 25th.
