Softball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

Sterling was the 21-5 winner over Longmont when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 12-11 on Saturday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Longmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-1-1 record this season.

Sterling will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Scottsbluff at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Longmont, they will challenge Lyons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
