Softball Game Preview: Limon Badgers vs. Sterling Tigers

Limon hasn't had much luck against Sterling recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Badgers will challenge the Tigers at 4:00 p.m.

Limon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wray/Yuma, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Badgers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Badgers have suffered since August 26th.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They were the clear victors by a 20-12 margin over Valley on Saturday. Considering the Tigers have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Sterling and bumps their season record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Limon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.

Limon might still be hurting after the 19-6 defeat they got from Sterling in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Badgers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
