Volcano Vista is a perfect 4-0 against Farmington since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Hawks will square off against the Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Volcano Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Rio Rancho, who was ranked sixth at the time (Volcano Vista was ranked fifth). The Hawks fell 3-1 to the Rams on Friday. Volcano Vista's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Roger SantaCruz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Farmington was forced to settle for a draw. They and Cleveland finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Volcano Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-1. Farmington's draw gives them a new season record of 4-7-1.

Volcano Vista beat Farmington by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
