Baseball Recap: Hampshire Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lakes typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Hampshire proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 8-3. Winning may never get old, but the Whip-Purs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Hampshire got a great performance from Mason Stanley as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Stanley a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shane Pfeiffer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hampshire's win bumped their record up to 19-13-1. As for Lakes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-7-1.

Coming up, Hampshire will venture away from home to face off against Marengo at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lakes, they will welcome Grayslake Central at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.9, the Rams 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
