After a string of seven wins, White Pine's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Lincoln County Lynx by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat back in August.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, White Pine sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 19-25, 15-3.

Ava Ahlvers paced White Pine's offense, picking up five kills. Ahlvers got some help from Savanna Pratt and her ten assists.

Sophie Donohue was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 assists and 11 digs. Those 12 assists gave her a new career-high. Lakyla Kulani also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

White Pine's loss dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Lincoln County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 25-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: White Pine beat Lincoln County by a score of 2-1 later that day.
