Soccer Game Preview: Cibola vs. Farmington

Cibola is 0-3 against Farmington since October of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Scorpions at 4:00 p.m. Cibola has given up an average of 5.4 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cibola lost 9-1 to Rio Rancho on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cibola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Rio Rancho are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Farmington's offense. They came up short against Volcano Vista on Saturday, falling 10-0. Farmington have struggled against Volcano Vista recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Cibola's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Cibola couldn't quite get it done against Farmington when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
