Brighton has gone a perfect 10-0 against Northglenn recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Norsemen at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Brighton made easy work of Mountain Range and carried off an 11-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella McHugh and Suki Mizunaga did most of the damage at the plate: McHugh went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Mizunaga went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI Mizunaga has posted since back in August. Nayeli Jaramillo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Brighton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Range only posted a batting average of .286.
Meanwhile, Northglenn can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let Boulder get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory.
Claire Wolford made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wolford was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.
In other batting news, Brooklynn Hendrick was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kloe Barela, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Brighton's record now sits at 11-6. As for Northglenn, their record is now 8-10.
Everything went Brighton's way against Northglenn in their previous matchup back in September, as Brighton made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
