Soccer Game Preview: Central Lee vs. Hillcrest Academy

Central Lee hasn't had much luck against Hillcrest Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hawks will look to defend their home pitch against the Ravens at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Central Lee took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Highland a 3-0 shutout. Central Lee haven't had any issues with Highland recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Savages. That's two games straight that Hillcrest Academy have won by exactly nine goals.

Hillcrest Academy pushed their record up to 6-3-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those five games. As for Central Lee, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
