Softball Recap: Wesleyan Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Buford

Wesleyan faced Buford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Wesleyan fell just short of Buford by a score of 3-2. Wesleyan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Buford apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Wesleyan moved to 16-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Buford, the win keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesleyan will venture away from home to face off against Landmark Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Buford, they will head out to square off against Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.19 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
