Baseball Recap: Mattoon Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mattoon can now relate to. They fell 6-2 to the Jacksonville Crimsons on Wednesday. The Greenwave just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Max Wetzel made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Brayden Hackett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Mattoon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-24. As for Jacksonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Mattoon nor Jacksonville have any future games scheduled.
