Softball Game Preview: Sumter County Panthers vs. Jordan Red Jackets

The Sumter County Panthers will head out to challenge the Jordan Red Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Columbus hit Sumter County with a seven-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 15-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Jordan's offense. They lost 17-0 to Shaw on Tuesday.

Sumter County now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Sumter County skirted past Jordan 11-9 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
