Baseball Recap: Laney Comes Up Short

Laney made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Burke County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Laney's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Burke County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laney will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greene County at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Burke County, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Towns County at 12:00 p.m.
