Volleyball Recap: Weeki Wachee Starts Season with Win Against Nature Coast Tech

Weeki Wachee gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Nature Coast Tech Sharks 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

Weeki Wachee took Nature Coast Tech into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-21, 19-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Weeki Wachee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendyl Eastin, who had 15 digs and five kills. The dominant performance also gave Eastin a new career-high in assists (19). Taylor Porter was another key player, getting 16 digs and two aces.

Weeki Wachee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against South Sumter on the 21st. As for Nature Coast Tech, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Hudson on the 21st.
