Football Game Preview: Middletown Knights vs. Frederick Cadets + How To Watch

The Middletown Knights will take on the Frederick Cadets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Middletown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Middletown gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Oakdale 20-17.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Frederick, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past South Hagerstown 30-7 on Friday. The score was close at halftime, but the Cadets pulled away in the second half with 27 points.

Middletown better keep an eye on Miles Robinson. He was instrumental in Frederick's win, rushing for 106 yards and one score on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and one touchdown. 85 of those passing yards were hauled in by Paul Huff, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Frederick's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Elijah Owusu-Bempah was the leader with two sacks. Cory Martin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Middletown's record now sits at 3-0. As for Frederick, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Middletown against Frederick in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 46-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
