Thoreau has gone 8-2 against Zuni recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. The Hawks will head out to  face off against the Thunderbirds  at 6:00  p.m. Zuni took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Thoreau, who comes in off a win.
Thoreau will bounce into Thursday's   match after  beating Tohatchi, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hawks walked away with  a   3-1  win over the Cougars  on Saturday.
Thoreau found their leader in sophomore  Jillianne Brondo, who  had nine  digs and one assist.
 Thoreau  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with ten  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least ten  aces in three consecutive  contests.
Meanwhile,  it was a Battle of the Birds when Zuni duked it out with Crownpoint on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds lost  3-0 to the Eagles. The Thunderbirds have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11,  25-21.
 Thoreau's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Zuni, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
 Thoreau came out on top in a nail-biter against Zuni in their previous meeting  on October 11th, sneaking past  3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
