Baseball Recap: Mt. Zion Braves vs. Normal West Wildcats
Mt. Zion proved they can win big last Friday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Normal West Wildcats, sneaking past 1-0. That's more bragging rights for the Braves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
The team relied heavily on Kellen Bollhorst, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
Mt. Zion is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games.
