Baseball Recap: Parkview Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Parkview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Peachtree Ridge Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 last Tuesday.

Emani Ford made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases.

In other pitching news, Grant Lambert looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

Ford wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Malachi Washington, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Bryce Carter also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Parkview pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Peachtree Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.

Parkview and Peachtree Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Parkview will challenge Norcross at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday up 274 places (15 vs. 289). Parkview's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Peachtree Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge (ranked 87th) will meet Meadowcreek (ranked 423rd) at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
