Baseball Recap: Milburn Takes a Loss

After flying high against Smithville on Thursday, Milburn came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 23-7 to the Caney Cougars on Monday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Milburn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Mcbride, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Mcbride has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Alex Wingo was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Milburn's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Caney, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

Coming up, Milburn will square off against Sasakwa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caney has already played their next contest (against Frontier), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
