Baseball Recap: Central A & M Comes Up Short

Central A & M extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-14. They came up short against the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

As for Warrensburg-Latham, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by nine runs or more this season.

For Warrensburg-Latham's part, the team relied heavily on Trenton Bridges, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Casen Reynolds was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Central A & M will square off against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.86 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Warrensburg-Latham, they will challenge Mt. Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.5, the Hilltoppers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
