Santa Fe scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eldorado Golden Eagles. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Demons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasper Nelson, who rushed for 175 yards and one touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Navarette, who gained 104 total yards.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Eldorado, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Santa Fe will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Atrisco Heritage Academy at 11:00 a.m. on October 11. As for Eldorado, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against La Cueva at 7:00 p.m.
