Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brighton). They blew past the Rangeview Raiders 18-0 on Saturday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Laikyn Lanzen was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, Riley Doherty was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mya Arriaga, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Brighton lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in September of 2024.
Brighton's record is now 10-6. As for Rangeview, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14-1.
Brighton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-3 win against Mountain Range on the 30th. As for Rangeview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-1 defeat against Denver South on the 30th.
