Baseball Recap: George Walton Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

George Walton Academy and Athens Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but George Walton Academy had to settle for second. They lost 13-1 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

George Walton Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beckett Lacour, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

George Walton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-20. As for Athens Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-4.

George Walton Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Athens Christian, they will challenge Bethlehem Christian Academy on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.4, the Knights 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
