Baseball Recap: LeRoy Comes Up Short

If LeRoy was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Hoopeston last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Westville Tigers on Tuesday, falling 15-5. The Panthers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Jack Bogema was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. LeRoy is 6-1 when Bogema posts two or more runs, but 7-12 otherwise.

LeRoy's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Westville, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.

LeRoy will square off against St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
