Football Recap: Wheatland-Grinnell Falls Short of Minneola in the Playoffs

Wheatland-Grinnell and Minneola squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Wheatland-Grinnell had to settle for second. They were dealt a 48-18 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. The Thunderhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2020.

Wheatland-Grinnell has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Minneola, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Wheatland-Grinnell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Minneola, they will take on Hodgeman County on Friday. The Longhorns' defense has only allowed 4.4 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
