Basketball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Branch last Wednesday, Glendale came back down to earth. The Glendale Vikings took a 36-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Juniata Valley Hornets on Wednesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-27 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Glendale still got an impressive performance from Madison Peterson, who posted 15 points. That was a full 55.6% of Glendale's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Anna Taylor was the offensive standout of the matchup as she earned 14 points. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Anderson, who put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Glendale has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Juniata Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Glendale has already played their next contest (against Moshannon Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Juniata Valley has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Northern Bedford County.
