Baseball Game Preview: Baconton Charter Blazers vs. Valwood Valiants

The Baconton Charter Blazers are taking a road trip to face off against the Valwood Valiants at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Baconton Charter beats Valwood with 16 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Baconton Charter didn't even let Randolph-Clay on the board on Tuesday, marking Baconton Charter's second-straight 16-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Blazers, who have now won eight games in a row.

Meanwhile, Valwood never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Community Christian Academy with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Valiants.

Valwood got a massive performance out of Triston White, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits White has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dax Womack, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Valwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Baconton Charter pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Valwood, their record now sits at 6-3.

Baconton Charter couldn't quite finish off Valwood in their previous meeting on March 6th and fell 5-3. Can Baconton Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
