Softball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Extends Winning Streak to Five

Riverdale Ridge waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Brighton Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 on Monday.

Riverdale Ridge got a massive performance out of Peyton Saenz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Saenz has posted over her last 11 matchups. Jaeanna Sandoval also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Riverdale Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Riverdale Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Brighton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8.

Riverdale Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brighton, they will face off against Boulder at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.59 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
