Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask George Walton Academy). Everything went their way against the Riverside Military Academy Eagles on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 last Tuesday.

Mason Thomason was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for George Walton Academy: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 3-16 otherwise. Thomason was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grant Spires, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Lowe, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

George Walton Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive contests.

George Walton Academy's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-17. As for Riverside Military Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

George Walton Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
